“Leuchtspuren” to be continued

The cinema initiative “Leuchtspuren” has become a favorite among moviegoers. Starting from August 2, over twenty new love letters featuring actors, filmmakers, and special guests will be shown in the pre-program. Among them are Anika Decker, Bibiana Beglau, Bjarne Mädel, Christiane Paul, Collien Fernandez-Ulmen, Elle Fanning, Florian Weischer, Friedrich Lichtenstein, Helen Mirren, Johanna Wokalek, Karoline Herfurth, Kida Khodr Ramadan, Lea van Acken, Michael Gwisdek, Oliver Berben, Robert Hofmann, Sabin Tambrea, Samuel Finzi, Senta Berger, Sibel Kekilli, and Steven Gätjen.

Hamburg, August 2, 2022 – “We are very pleased that we can continue this successful format, and are grateful that so many filmmakers have taken the time for an interview,” says Björn Hoven, producer, and creator of the format.

In sequences lasting from 30 to 120 seconds, the stars share their very personal and touching cinema moments. They describe what fascinates them about the cinema, which emotional scenes have shaped them, and why they have such a great passion for the most exciting medium in the world. In addition, a weekly interview of five to ten minutes in length is broadcast on the homepage.

Exclusive photos and selected videos have also been shared on Instagram since April.

The cinema initiative “Leuchtspuren” sees itself as a declaration of love to cinema and was launched earlier this year by Florian Weischer, Chairman of Weischer, Stefan Kuhlow, CEO of Weischer.Cinema, and Björn Hoven, Managing Director of Leuchtstoff.Media. “Our vision is to create a permanent platform with Leuchtspuren that celebrates cinema,” says Florian Weischer. The foundation for this has been laid. “Since the cinema broadcast started on January 18, we have already reached over 20 million contacts with a gross media volume of almost 7 million euros (gross),” says Stefan Kuhlow. “In doing so, we have carried the entire production costs out of love for cinema.”

The cinema initiative “Leuchtspuren” is also well-received within the industry, and cinema operators welcome Weischer.Cinema’s commitment. “The cinema initiative ‘Leuchtspuren’ makes the pre-program shine,” says Hans-Joachim Flebbe, CEO of Premium Entertainment and creator of the Astor luxury cinemas. “It is a real added value and a great addition to the campaign of the Hauptverband Deutscher Filmtheater (HDF). My personal highlight is the cinema story of Wim Wenders with Jackie Kennedy.” Carsten Horn, CEO, CinemaxX Holdings GmbH, expresses a similarly positive view: “We very much welcome the ‘Leuchtspuren’ initiative,” says Horn. “Cinema is the medium to experience films in perfection. There cannot be enough talk about film, cinema, and the people behind it in everyday life. Consistent anchoring in perception helps cinema in the constant pitch for the scarce resource of time.”
