Weischer Launches Agency for Branded Entertainment

ENTERTAINMENT MARKETING EXPERTS MARCO GERDES AND MARCEL BERTRAM, TOGETHER WITH HAMBURG-BASED MEDIA COMPANY WEISCHER, ARE LAUNCHING A NEW AGENCY FOR BRANDED ENTERTAINMENT: WEISCHER.ENTERTAINMENT COMBINES CONTENT EXPERTISE WITH PLATFORM THINKING, CREATIVE CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT, AND DISTRIBUTION STRATEGIES.

Marco Gerdes and Marcel Bertram, two content marketing experts, have teamed up with media company Weischer to launch a new branded entertainment agency: Weischer.Entertainment. The agency connects assets such as talent, media brands, and licences with brands, creating compelling storytelling campaigns and proprietary format platforms. From the outset, the team approaches content, distribution, and media performance as an integrated whole. “Anyone who wants to stand out today needs to spark emotion – and entertainment is one of the most powerful tools to achieve this,” says Marcel Bertram. “We view branded entertainment as a strategic instrument, not as an optional creative add-on,” adds Marco Gerdes.

Backed by the Weischer Group, Weischer.Entertainment can leverage a broad media ecosystem spanning cinema, (D)OOH, social, retail media, and TV. Marco Gerdes brings more than 15 years of experience in developing and executing cross-media entertainment marketing concepts. As Head of The Story Lab Germany, he was responsible for the strategic development of Dentsu’s specialist agency. Previously, he spent many years at blöcher+partner, and from 2021 to 2025 he co-founded and managed the agency MMD Studios. Marcel Bertram also worked for many years at blöcher+partner and later at The Story Lab, where, as Senior Consultant, he was in charge of content licensing, among other responsibilities. He has extensive expertise in content IPs, brand collaborations, and media production. He too co-founded MMD Studios, whose team and IPs have been integrated into the new agency. Their portfolio includes projects such as the live-stream event *Carrera Racing Night* in a joint venture with pilot Entertainment, as well as bespoke branded formats for clients like GetYourGuide, where they managed talent relations for Bill and Tom Kaulitz.

Weischer.Entertainment does not position itself as a traditional creative or media agency but as a strategic sparring partner with deep expertise in entertainment content, content distribution, and brand-driven storytelling. Unlike many other players in the market, the agency doesn’t focus solely on one-off campaigns but also develops proprietary entertainment platforms and formats independently of client briefs, which are then matched with suitable brand partners.
