Weischer founds social media agency

THE HAMBURG-BASED MEDIA COMPANY WEISCHER CONTINUES TO EXPAND ITS EXPERTISE. WITH WEISCHER.CONNECT, THE GROUP NOW ALSO INCLUDES A SOCIAL MEDIA AGENCY. BJÖRN WENZEL IS THE NEW CEO.

The Weischer Group is expanding its portfolio to include a neighbouring business area: with immediate effect, the Hamburg-based media company will also be a relevant player in the social media sector. Together with Björn Wenzel, Weischer is founding the social media agency “Weischer.Connect”. Wenzel, former founder and managing director of the influencer marketing agency Lucky Shareman, is taking over the position of CEO at Weischer.Connect.

Weischer.Connect positions itself as a boutique agency that supports established brand owners, renowned brands and medium-sized companies in finding and implementing the social media solution that is relevant to them. “We are not a start-up, but see ourselves as a business partner,” explains Björn Wenzel. “We search for, find and develop the right answers in the confusing world of social media.” Weischer.Connect plans to grow to around ten employees by the middle of the year. The agency also has a dense network of highly skilled freelancers Another plus is its proximity to the other agencies in the Weischer Group. For example, comprehensive solutions for out-of-home or cinema can be created with Weischer.JvB or Weischer.Cinema.

The new company is also the first visible result of Udo Schendel’s work. The long-standing CEO of Weischer.JvB took on the newly created position of Chief Investment Officer (CIO). The aim was and is to examine strategic investments and acquisitions and to expand the Weischer Group’s market-leading position into neighbouring business areas by founding new companies. “With Weischer.Connect, we will expand our digital expertise in the market and at the same time offer our customers a high level of networking potential with OOH and cinema,” explains Udo Schendel. “We are thus entering a gap in the market. After all, this type of offering, which is particularly interesting for mobile target groups, has never existed before.”

Co-founder Björn Wenzel, a proven expert, is taking over the management of the new agency. Wenzel founded the Lucky Shareman agency in 2015 and developed it into one of the top 5 influencer agencies in Germany by the time he left in 2022. Prior to this, he was Head of Performance Marketing at the agency Pilot for many years before taking over as Managing Director at Kontor Digital Media. “We are delighted that we at Weischer can now take a further step with Björn: competent, innovative and with clear goals,” says Udo Schendel. “Together with our customers, we will work on building a market-leading position in the area of social media as well.”
