And this is how it continues
After the application deadline (March 6, 2022), the high-caliber jury will evaluate the online submissions of the Young Lions competitors. Weischer will invite the top five teams from each category to Elbberg in Hamburg in April, where the preliminary decision will enter its hot phase: The teams must implement an unknown briefing within 24 hours.
Subsequently, the juries will decide who should be a part of “Team Germany” and thus represent Germany at the Cannes Lions Festival in the categories Film, Print, Design, Media, Digital, and PR. The winners have the unique opportunity to compete against up to 50 other creative teams from around the world from May 14 to June 7, 2022, as part of the festival, where they will face another challenging task and, at the same time, the grand finale: They must implement the briefing of a real client – a specified nonprofit organization – within just 24 hours and present it to the jury digitally.
The competition is once again supported by long-term partners with various measures. Getty Images, for example, provides access to its image database for participants in the Film, Print, and Design categories. GPRA e.V. provides support in the PR category with various communication measures, while the Young Lions aspirants in the category Print can look forward to a giant poster being realized by PoolOne Giant Media for the winning team. Last but not least, Audio Network provides access to its music database for participants in the Film category so they can get the right soundtrack for their project.
