LUF brings global stars to the cinemas

Trafalgar Releasing, the world’s leading provider of Alternative Cinema Content, establishes the company LUF Kino, thereby expanding its business activities in the German-speaking countries of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Weischer.Cinema, the leading cinema advertising marketer in the DACH region, is acting as a financial investor and junior partner in LUF Kino.

Hamburg, March 16, 2022 – The LUF Kino portfolio includes exclusive pop concerts, operas with star-studded casts, and premieres from internationally renowned theater stages. LUF’s main shareholder, Trafalgar Releasing, was founded in 2006 and has previously brought major cultural moments to the big screen with cinema transmissions from the Royal Opera House in London and “The King and I: Live From The London Palladium.” Live concert films featuring Depeche Mode, Metallica, or Bon Jovi have enjoyed immense success worldwide.

Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing, explains the strategy behind the company’s formation: “The German-speaking cinema markets in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are among the most revenue-generating in Europe – Germany is already Trafalgar Releasing’s third-largest market. However, we believe there is still considerable room for growth.
